Attention: The Chief Executive Officer
Dear Sir,
A site inspection was undertaken on 16 January 2023 to view the non-standard
crossover for 498 Cooroy Mountain Road, Cooroy Mountain.
Based on observations and measurements taken onsite, the non-standard crossover
generally aligns with Standard Drawing RS-056 Rev E, with additional commentary
provided below:
The crossover’s construction, layout and alignment suit the existing road
environment being an unsealed, rural road. It is not dissimilar to neighbouring
crossovers in the vicinity of this property.
The location of the crossover has good sight distance to approaching vehicles from
both the uphill and downhill directions, and is generally better than neighbouring
crossovers in the vicinity of this property.
The existing road’s geometry (incline and horizontal curves) and unsealed surface
naturally lead to drivers having a higher sense of alertness and reduced reaction
time whilst driving through this section of the road.
On this basis, we believe this non-standard crossover aligns with the intent of RS-056 and
provides a safe point of access/egress for the property.
We request that Council favourably consider this application submission.
Please contact me if further information or clarification is required.
Yours faithfully,
RECOR Pty Ltd
