Relationship to Cost Recovery
Council’s support for events operates alongside its cost recovery approach. While some events receive funding
or in-kind support, others contribute toward the costs associated with the use of public land, infrastructure
and services. The balance between support and cost recovery depends on the nature of the event, including
the level of public benefit and any private or commercial gain. This ensures that: public resources are used
responsibly; costs are shared appropriately; and a diverse mix of events can continue to be supported across
Noosa.
