GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 14 NOVEMBER 2022
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
Initial consultation with Eastern Beaches Foreshore Reserve community stakeholders informed the
development of the plan by identifying important values and issues. Broader community input will
be sought during a four-week consultation period from in February/March 2023. The meeting notes
with stakeholders and the community submissions received will be considered and reported back
to Council. See Community Consultation and Engagement Plan, Attachment 2.
The Eastern Beaches foreshore reserves are recognised as having regional community
importance. Eastern Beaches coastal communities, coastal communities away from the Eastern
Beaches, and hinterland communities will all be invited to participate and offered local opportunities
to contribute. Attendance and input from individuals and organisations living in neighbouring local
government areas and further afield will also be accepted and considered.
Organisations and individuals that have been identified as stakeholders during the plan
development or have subscribed will be sent an email invitation to participate in consultation. The
consultation period and opportunities will be more widely advertised in Council publications, local
publications, social media and via displays in Council facilities such as libraries.
Noosa Council will provide a range of casual and formal consultation opportunities, including a
Your Say Noosa page on Council’s website, surveys, written feedback and verbal feedback via
pop-ups at community events and beach accesses and community meetings.
Internal Consultation
Extensive informal and formal discussion about the foreshore reserves and Eastern Beaches
Foreshore Management Plan have occurred over the last several months with Council
departments. A three-week internal consultation process in August 2022 was completed to
