RFI - Effluent disposal report
5.1 Land Application Area Design:
The minimum Land Application Area required is 240m2. 244.8m2 is allocated. 100% reserve area available on this site.
The Land Application Area is situated in a heavily vegetated area at the front of the site.
The preferred method of dispersal is Surface Irrigation via FIXED sprinklers (Wobblers). See typical drawing for detail
page 5.
An area 24m x 10.2m to be set out as shown on the drawing and three (3) rows of seven - (21) fixed sprinklers be
installed. Laterals to be laid on top of the ground and pinned into position. Wobblers to be installed on 400mm risers
and an inline valve installed on each riser to control plumage. Risers must be kept vertically plumb and supported by a
galvanised rod. See drawing for detail.
A three (3) stage indexing valve (K-Rain) to be installed to service each bank of sprinklers alternatively.
Installer is to ensure that a suitable sized irrigation pump is installed in the system to ensure correct operation of the
irrigation area. Min 25m head.
Laterals to be 25mm PN12.5 to provide sufficient flow to operate each bank sprinklers.
In accordance with the Noosa Council stipulated guidelines, the treated effluent must not at any time extend beyond the
approved designated area.
A 120 micron filter is to be installed in the delivery line at the tank. A non-return valve to be installed in the delivery line
after the filter to prevent back flow when servicing the filter. This filter is to be cleaned at every service interval.
The Land Application Area is to be maintained to ensure survival of plants and adequate mulch cover is sustained.
Delivery line (32mm PN12.5) is to be buried a minimum of 200mm and pipework to comply with AS/NZS 1547/2012
and QPW Code.
Two warning signs are to be installed at the land application area.
