PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 2 FEBRUARY 2016
Initiative Comment
Electric Bus Trial We have successfully terminated the contract with
the original supplier who could not deliver their new
electric buses on schedule. Translink have been
kept in the loop and are in agreement with our
proposed course of action. Updated EOIs have been
prepared to assist in sourcing new Electric Buses.
The trial is now scheduled to begin in late 2016. It is
disappointing that the trial will be delayed due to non-
performance by the original supplier but with ongoing
technology developments, it may be a blessing in
disguise with newer technology now available.
Local Economic Plan The Noosa Local Economic Plan was adopted in
December 2015 and a report on implementation is
being reported to the February round of Council
meetings.
New Planning Scheme The CEO has appointed an experienced Project
Manager who will have oversight of the new Planning
Scheme development. They commence in February.
Dr Pages Road Culvert strengthening on Kinmond Creek Road has
been undertaken. With fine weather the project is
slightly ahead of schedule.
Workplace Health and Safety There is still a considerable amount of work to be
done on WH&S. See also comments in the KPI
section of this report. This is a major priority for
management.
Asset Management The first eight high level Asset Management Plans
have been adopted by Council. The review of our
Asset Management Framework, Capability and
Resource requirements has commenced with the
consultants on site this week working with key staff.
2. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
As Council would be aware, KPIs were first developed for our organisation at the beginning
of 2014/15. Approximately 30 management KPIs were developed and these are reviewed
on a monthly basis by the Leadership Team. Approximately 15 of those KPIs are reported to
Council on a quarterly basis. They are also reported to the Audit & Risk Committee in detail
at each Audit & Risk Committee meeting.
As far as the CEO is aware, we are one of the few Councils in Queensland to make this KPI
information available to the public via “non-confidential” reports. The KPIs are included in
Attachment 2.
