SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 6 JUNE 2017
These applications were then assessed and scored against the following RADF assessment
criteria:
1. Will the project develop the paid artist’s professional life
2. Will the project benefit the community, both directly and indirectly
3. Is the project well planned and achievable
4. Will the project increase the sustainably of quality and diverse creative communities
A total of 19 project pitches were received. 13 applications were then invited by the RADF
Committee to go to a full application resulting in 12 submitted applications requesting a total of
$59,110.
In accordance with RADF Guidelines, Committee members are required to declare any conflicts
of interest and once declared the Committee member is then not involved in related
deliberations.
In this round, conflicts of interest were declared by:
Rosie Lloyd-Giblett who did not assess RADF7008, which was submitted by Press Gang
Printmakers (Auspiced by Noosa Arts and Crafts Assoc. Inc), on the grounds she had
written a letter of support for the application; and
Jane Rivers who did not assess RADF7013 submitted by Noosa Arts Theatre on the
grounds she is the Director of the performance and a committee member of the applicant
organisation.
The RADF Committee recommended 11 applications totalling $40,000 for funding. The projects
recommended for funding are excellent in quality and diversity, and will employ quality artists and
arts workers who will engage in valuable arts and cultural activities across the region.
RADF funding notification
Upon Council endorsement of this report, successful applicants will be notified by mail including a
letter of acceptance for signature by the applicant.
Unsuccessful applicants who do not meet the grant criteria or who are not funded due to lack of
available funds will be advised in writing. Feedback is provided by the assessment panel on
areas of the project or application that may be improved.
Previous Council Consideration
RADF funding has been supported and administered by Noosa Council since 1996 and was
continued by Sunshine Coast Council from 2008 – 2013.
Noosa Council has continued with this partnership between State Government, through Arts
Queensland and with this grants program, allocating funds each year.
Finance & Risk
Funding of $40,000 is available in the 2016/17 Noosa Council budget for the RADF grant
projects. Funds will need to be carried over to the 17/18 budget due to the delays by Arts
Queensland in releasing the funds.
There are no risk implications.
