3 MAYORAL MINUTES
Cr Playford moved the following motion:
1 SIGNALISATION OF INTERSECTIONS – EXTENSION TO NOOSA CIVIC –
PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COURT APPEAL
With regard to Planning & Environment Court Appeal No D4159/15 and in particular
the traffic issues arising from that proposed development, Council:
A. Resolve that it regards that signalisation of intersections of the local road
network is undesirable and that in the event the development was approved by
the court it would not accept such works;
B. Resolve as the road authority, that it regards the signalisation of intersections of
the local road network as contrary to the public interest as it conflicts with
Council’s long standing objective of a roundabout based system and avoidance
of major signalised intersections;
C. Resolve that, as the road authority, it will not accept any signalisation of
intersections as such an outcome is contrary to and likely to undermine
Council’s long term traffic network planning objectives for the area; and
D. Instruct Council’s Solicitor for Planning & Environment Court Appeal No
D4159/15 to advise the appellant of Council’s resolution.
