REPORT
1. The Report and Financial Statements
Pursuant to section 182 of the Local Government Regulation 2012 (‘the Regulation’), a local
government must:
• Prepare an annual report for each financial year;
• Adopt its annual report within 1 month after the day the Auditor-General gives the Auditor-
General’s audit report about the local government’s financial statements for the financial
year to the local government; and
• Publish its annual report on its website within 2 weeks of adopting the annual report.
It is noted that the Auditor-General completed the audit of Council’s accounts and issued the
audit report dated 19 December 2014. The audit report was received by Council on 24 December
2014. Accordingly, the Report must be adopted by 25 January 2015.
The Report and Financial Statements form part of Council’s system of financial management and
are prescribed financial accountability documents, which are required pursuant to section
104(5)(b) of the Local Government Act 2009 (‘the Act’).
2. Contents of the Report
This is Council’s first Report since it was re-established on 1 January 2014. Accordingly, the
relevant reporting period is 1 January 2014 to 30 June 2014 and not the complete financial year
period.
The Report contains the information required to be disclosed by Council as prescribed by the Act
and the Regulation.
