Geotechnical Stability Report · OPW24/0017
GMW Projects Pty Ltd 24008-001-Rev0
31 January 2024
Groundwater was not mentioned in the Global borehole reports with the soils described as ‘moist’. Global
has classified the site as Class P, as per AS2870, due to the presence of trees and poor bearing capacity;
however, has indicated that if not for these factors the site has the characteristics of Class M.
2.2 Topography
During the site walk-over, topographic features specific to the site were noted and ground slopes were
recorded using a hand-held clinometer. As illustrated in Text Figure 4, the site is located on the easterly
facing flank of an ancient sand dune which crests about 40 m to the west.
The natural surface profile at the site had been interrupted by historic landscaping and residential
construction. Based on a visual assessment it appeared that cut and fill earthworks in the order of about
1 m depth/height had been undertaken, most of which were supported by timber sleeper and concrete
blockwork walls. Inferred unaltered ground slopes in the western part of the site ranged up to about 10°,
reducing to <5° in the eastern part of the site.
No obvious signs of irregular features which would indicate global instability were observed across the
allotment or immediate surrounding areas.
