· DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) - nominal trunk diameter at 1.4m above ground level Extent of tree pit excavation to be 1800mm x 1800mm in area, minimum (subject to footpath location). Remove all excavated fill off-site.
· TPZ should not be less than 2m nor greater than 15m (except where crown protection is required) Centre tree, 900mm from back of kerb, or between kerb and footpath as applicable.
· TPZ = DBH X 12 Garden areas to extend from back kerb to footpath, typ.
· TPZ of palms, other monocots, cycads and tree ferns should not be less than 1m Edging to extend to footpaths where applicable with street tree centrally located within garden (allowing for services setbacks), refer to
· Variations and encroachments to the TPZ in accordance with AS 4970-2009. plans for path locations.
Ensure crown of rootball level is set higher than adjacent finished ground levels to prevent excessive ponding around rootball.
When footpath is adjacent to street tree install root barrier to footpath side of plant pit as per notes above.
