5. CONCLUSION & REASONS FOR DECISION
The proposal is for rural visitor accommodation in the form of 6 small, 2 bedroom cabins which
are a consistent use in the rural zone. Three cabins are proposed as Stage 1 and should there
be demand, 3 cabins as Stage 2. Being new land holders, the applicant seeks to introduce
agriculture pursuits over time which are suitable for a small rural holding. The patrons will take
advantage of the hobby farm practices, the rural views, the natural surroundings and the nearby
Noosa Trail Network. When some additional architectural features are incorporated into the
cabins they would comply with the relevant built form provisions. It is considered the proposal
has sufficient separation from and is unlikely to negatively impact on the neighbouring equine
use. The cabins raise no significant planning concerns and are recommended for approval
subject to conditions.
