Noosa Shire contains a great diversity of landscapes, vegetation and habitat. Visitors and residents can
experience coastal dunes, wetlands, heathland, eucalypt forests and rainforest. Significant areas of
National Park and Bushland Reserve alongside private land conservation efforts protect these natural
assets. Council’s Environment Levy Policy raises funds to support the protection and enhancement of
environmentally significant land. A Conservation Land Guideline has been developed to support the
implementation of the policy. The guideline will help provide direction to Council and the community to
further secure important vegetation networks and habitat for native plants and animals.
