5. THE PROPOSAL

5.1 Facility and Equipment Details
5.1.1   Equipment to be installed

Approval is sought for the use and development of a telecommunications facility,
comprising a 35 m monopole, and ancillary components including two outdoor
units (ODU) enclosed within a secure compound which measures approximately
120 m2.
The specific components of the proposed installation are described below:
   •    The installation of a 35 m monopole;
   •    The installation of one (1) parabolic dish antenna (600 mm) for
        transmission purposes, at an elevation of 32 m on the monopole;
   •    The installation of five (5) panel antennas (dimensions 1.07 m high x 0.30
        m wide x 0.15 m deep), located at an elevation of 35 m;
   •    The installation of a 2.4m high chain link security compound fence
        (compound area 120 m2), with 3 m wide access gate;
   •    The installation of two (2) outdoor equipment units (dimensions: 2.614
        m high x 0.7 m wide x 0.7 m deep; and the other is 1.794 m high x 0.667
        m wide x 0.797 deep) at ground level. The outdoor units will be installed
        on a concrete slab and will be metallic grey in colour; and
   •    The installation of associated feeder cables that will run underground from
        the equipment cabinets, and then internally within the monopole to the
        antennas.

This nbn™ Fixed Wireless facility is a Wireless Hub Site within the network,
providing nbn™ services to Cooran with coverage extending to parts of
Pinbarren, Pomona and Traverston.

Figure 5.1 represents an example of a monopole while Figure 5.2 represents
an example of a parabolic dish.

Figure 5.3 identifies the specific site on the subject property where the
proposed development is to be located.
