EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Community Development Manager to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 12 November 2019 and approve three year Alliance
funding to Noosa District Community FM Radio Association Inc as provided in Attachment 1 to
the report.
REPORT
The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and endorse Alliance funding to Noosa
District Community FM Radio Association Inc 2019-20 as provided in Attachment 1 of this report.
Council provides financial support for up to three years to not for profit incorporated community
organisations whose services provide significant benefit to the Noosa community (beyond their
membership); demonstrate value for money; and closely align with Council’s strategic goals and
identified key initiatives.
Council called for expressions of interest for this Grants program in 2016 and again in 2019.
Noosa District Community FM Radio Association Inc was invited to apply however funding was
not recommended in the Council report of 20 June 2019 and instead funding was to be
reconsidered by Council upon submission of a satisfactorily revised strategic plan which included
the means to implement the plan and a satisfactory 2018-2019 audited financial report. Both
documents were received and considered by Council staff in October 2019. Based on this
information, Council staff are recommending three year Alliance Grant funding to Noosa District
Community FM Radio Association Inc, however the funding will be conditional upon Noosa FM
submitting reports each twelve months demonstrating a satisfactory progress report on the
strategic plan and a satisfactory audited financial report which demonstrates that the association
is maintaining a stable financial position.
Refer to report titled ‘2019-20 Community Grants and Environment Program Funding’ presented
to the Services and Organisation Committee Meeting dated 12 November 2019, for further
information.
