Finance
Funding for the 2019/20 Community Grants Program was determined as part of the 2019/20
Budget process.

In the 2019/20 financial year, Environment grants are being funded out of the Environment Levy.
$125,000 of this year’s Environment Levy was allocated towards environmental project and
alliance grants. The $19,998 funded this round will bring the total allocated this financial year to
$97,441. The remaining budget will be returned to the levy.

Risks & Opportunities
Community and Environment groups have the opportunity to leverage Council grant funding from
other external grant sources.

Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
     Free information sessions and one on one meetings with potential applicants were held
       across the Shire for eligible not for profit community organisation to learn about the Council
       grants program.

Internal Consultation
This report has been developed in consultation with staff across Council including
representatives from the following areas:
   Community Development
   Financial Services
   Executive Services
   Environmental Services
   Property and Facilities
   Development Assessment

Applications for Community and Environment Grants were assessed by Specialist Officers and
moderated by the Director of Community Services, Director of Environment and Sustainability,
Community Development Manager, and the Environment Services Manager.
