Dear Noosa Council,
It would be incumbent, upon me, as a resident and business owner in Noosa Junction if I didn't object to the new development of more retail shops.
I lived in Noosa for 6 years before I decided to open a business. I observed the down months of February, May , June and November and the good months of January and Easter Time.

Do the developers live here in Noosa ?

The facts are that there are lots of Noosa houses that are empty because they are peoples 2nd homes or a holiday home. The majority of people who live here, work in retail or hospitality... low paying jobs... and Seniors... these people don't have heaps of spare cash to keep going to the shops. If all the people who owned houses lived here , then maybe things would be different, they would contribute to the economy every day purchasing everyday items and services and the current shops would flourish.

To keep building more shopping centres is just spreading everyone about and then no one gets to make a decent living.

How many of the original shop owners that went into Civic 1, 9 years ago, are still in business ? not many... I'm pretty sure there is only Big W and Woolworths. If civic was so successful then the original shops from 9 years ago would still be in business.

How about the developers buying some of the empty shops in Noosa Junction and making it look modern like Coolum. Do a two level carpark at the back of the cinema. Lift the ridiculous two hour parking restriction from the carparks in the Junction which would allow people to shop without clock watching.

Look after the Residents and Business Owners that have put their lives and money into creating The Junction.
Please listen to us and see common sense.

Karen Martin
Business Owner
Noosa Junction.
