Councillor Hungerford,My name is Stephen Jones and I am the person who interrupted your speech on how good this broiler farm will be for my area.I have lived here on Top Forestry Rd for more than 30 years and currently do so with my wife and two young daughters.How is it that you think you know better than us and your own PLANNING DEPARTMENT about the safety of residents.If you look up CHOOK FARM BIO-SECURITY you will find airborne disease can travel and infect other farms up to 5km away.What does that mean for our drinking water?That's not even counting dried manure blown on the wind.My house is 500 metres from Top Forestry Rd and every year I remove 4x15 litre buckets of dirt from my rainwater tanks.My children travel that road every day to school.By going against the recommendations of your PLANNING DEPARTMENT(unbiased experts in their field) you are taking their safety squarely on your own shoulders.That is a responsibility I will make you carry until they stop travelling along it,not just until the Council boundaries revert and you try to wash your hands of this.All you will do is make a wealthy man richer and punish a whole community for it.David Milligan is already in the process of relocating his family to his other house at Minyama,so you can rest assured his family won't have to drink the contaminated water.A vibrant growing community is based on new people coming to the area and making it their home.Would you move in next to a BROILER FARM?The short term shed construction work generated will be outweighed by no new house applications,no renovations,no subdivision,no real estate fees or stamp duties from future sales,and there is no new jobs created in your shire.Look further than the glossy brochure David Milligan gave you.If you think I am wrong about anything here please let me know on 0428 713377 Yours Sincerely Stephen Jones
