To: Noosa Council Regarding Proposed Change to Approval :- Application ref: MCU18/0006.03 & OPW18/0012.03 1 and 2/10 Hill Street, Sunshine Beach Dear sir/madam, I am the owner of the adjoining property 9 Oak Street Sunshine Beach. My husband and I previously lived in in this house for over twenty years. Now we have full-time tenants renting on a lease. We do have concerns about short term accommodation at the above-mentioned property. Our main concern is that the bedroom/s are at the very back of our house and exceptionally close to the Hill Street properties. And to accentuate the problem, the Hill Street verandahs are at the rear of those dwellings and directly facing our bedrooms. As we discovered, those verandahs are where people gather to entertain and therefore the noise is overly directed our way when we are trying to sleep. We can hear people simply having a normal conversation. The sound really echos because it’s trapped between buildings. So the problem with short term accommodation is that holiday-makers tend to stay up later and make more noise until later at night. In theory we are not opposed to STA accommodation, but you must know that it will come with a great noise toll for us that will create many sleepless nights. The absolute worst thing that could happen is for you to allow them to make noise after 9pm and to have large numbers of guests. Is there a way to limit guest numbers? And noise times? We would much prefer to see the property rented by permanent tenants who tend to be more respectful of neighbours and noise levels. Yours faithfully, Diane Boeyen
