The mid-storey contained regenerating Acacia melanoxylon (blackwood) while the understorey was dominated by native and exotic grasses. VHC 24.1 is attributed a potential combined surface fuel load of 9.5 t/ha and a potential total fuel load of 10.1 t/ha (QFES, 2019). Plate 6 depicts typical conditions within VHC 24.1. Plate 6 – Characteristic vegetation within VHC 24.1 3.2.3 Vegetation Hazard Class 39.2 – Low to moderate tree cover in built up areas Vegetation Hazard Class 39.2 (VHC 39.2) is characterised by periodically slashed grassland with low-moderate density woody vegetation. It was noted that Tallowood Place exhibited a linear strip of mature Eucalyptus microcorys (tallowood) and Eucalyptus tereticornis (forest red gum) lining the road on either side. However, given the 1-2 tree wide density of the mature trees it was considered to conform to VHC 39.2 VHC 39.2 is attributed a potential combined surface fuel load of 5 t/ha and a potential total fuel load of 8 t/ha (QFES, 2019). Plate 7 depicts typical conditions within VHC 39.2. Plate 7 – Characteristic vegetation within VHC 39.2 3.2.4 Vegetation Hazard Class 40.4 – Continuous low grass or tree cover in built up areas Vegetation Hazard Class 40.4 (VHC 40.4) is located across proposed Lot 1 area and offsite to the northwest and east and is characterised by managed grassland (slashed/mown). VHC 40.4 is attributed a potential combined surface fuel load of 4.5 t/ha and a potential total fuel load of 5 t/ha (QFES, 2019). Plate 8 depicts typical conditions within VHC 40.4. © 2022 10
