Please remove my former submission on MCU22/0118 as the incorrect personal details were attached to the email. Please accept this current submission as my response to the MCU22/0118 application before council. To whom it may concern, In a time where koalas have been declared endangered this RACV development application should be rejected. If you approve this development, Council and the developer needs to provide monetary yearly ongoing contributions to direct wildlife rescue organisations/ vets and carers in Noosa that will be directly impacted by this development. Volunteer Wildlife rescue groups will be left to rescue the wildlife in this area that will be displaced and get injured, come into contact with dogs and cats, hit by cars and face more disease because of ongoing habitat loss. This constant clearing of wildlife habitat puts a significant strain on volunteer wildlife rescue who make themselves available 24/7 to help wildlife that need rescuing because of injuries, illness and diseases all related to habitat loss. If the last holidays were anything to go by and all the tourists on Noosa main beach, I strongly believe that there are enough tourist in Noosa already,, why do we need more tourist accommodation development In the heart of Noosa. Our wildlife and environment will suffer because adults in council make decisions that us kids have to live with once you are gone. It’s not fare to future generations how you adults make all the decisions about our environment while contributing to the decline in Koalas in Qld. Koalas are endangered, to me as a kid that means we need to protect them, not try to destroy them by destroying their homes. I want my kids and my kids kids to be able to see Koalas in Noosa. People come to noosa for the natural beauty and you are destroying what people come to see, wildlife, koalas, nature. There are already sustainable tourism opportunities for tourists coming to Noosa, tourist have enough options already to feel like they are doing something for nature in Noosa. Although RACV has won awards for tourism in Noosa and promotes sustainable tourism they have done nothing to help noosa koalas at their development site in Noosa. Instead RACV has contributed to the decline in koala numbers as they have let the development site at RACV in Noosa become over run and infested with invasive weeds therefore not allowing for the full potential (tree, leaf yield) to support the endangered koalas in the area. How has RACV given back to the local community who love our wildlife? Does Racv actively support wildlife rescue groups, vets , carers of our wildlife In Noosa? I reject this development application MCU22/0118 as it contributes to climate change, the decline in endangered koalas and other wildlife, it puts more pressure on Noosa’s wildlife rescue organisations, vets and carers, it causes eco anxiety amongst our community and is not in the best interest of local Noosa residents. This development will only benefit a huge company while destroying our local wildlife. This development will also impact the Noosa River System, it will unintentionally bring more human rubbish (again impacting wildlife further) it will impact the mangrove ecosystems that boarder the development and will bring more traffic to this sensitive Koala habitat area in Noosa. I would like to know, when is enough tourist accommodation enough? My future is in the hands of “leaders” in my community and I choose wildlife and Koalas over more tourist development. As kids, our voices should matter and we should feel included in these important decisions that have a big impact on our environment and OUR future. I reject this development and hope Noosa Council rejects it to for the sake of our wildlife and our Endangered Koalas. From Jarrah Small PO Box 639 Tewantin Qld 4565
