Dear Patrick,

Response to Further Submission - Proposed ‘Boutique Hotel’, Noosa Springs Golf and
Spa Resort, 61 Noosa Springs Drive, Noosa Heads, described as Lot 4 on SP178340

Reference is made to your email of 26 March 2023, which included a further submission made
by one of the submitters to the application. Further, reference is also made to the onsite
meeting held on 3 April 2023 about the proposed relocated tennis courts.

Firstly, while it is accepted that the person lodging the further submission, lodged a submission
during the public notification period, this further submission is obviously outside of the public
notification period, and should not be given any weight in the assessment.

The changes made to the proposal plans were in response to Council’s concerns about the
loss of koala habitat within the site, with the proposed tennis courts being relocated in
response to that issue. This is despite an environmental offset being provided for the loss of
the 19 Non-Juvenile Koala Habitat Trees (NJKHTs) as agreed by the State Assessment Referral
Agency (SARA), with other additional offset planting also being provided within the golf
course.

Deputation

As discussed previously, if some of the submitters are making a deputation to a Council
meeting when the application is being presented, then the applicant requests the same
opportunity. However, the applicant is concerned that the submitters will raise issues that are
not relevant to the assessment in an attempt to mislead the Council and have the application
refused or the decision deferred. The applicant is not aware of what issues will be raised by
the submitters at the meeting and might not be able to respond adequately on the day.
