Details of Submission I (We), make the following submission: I live in Brisbane and visit Noosa regularly to catch up with friends and family. Often our Noosa visit includes a drive up to McKanes Lookout at Cooran where we’ll enjoy a picnic with it’s majestic views. The quiet, natural scenic amenity of the area makes a welcome relief from busy Noosa. If we have time, we particularly enjoy hiking down the steep incline from the lookout to Cooran on the section of the Noosa Trail that follows Arthys Road and Falls Creek Road. I was alarmed to hear there was an NBN tower proposed for the area but when I saw a site map and realised the tower would be on a ridge in the Falls Creek Valley where it will be visible from the Noosa Trail and McKanes Lookout I was truly shocked. Why put the tower in such a visible spot in such a scenic valley? Surely it would be better to extend the existing tower which is further to the west and less visible from the lookout and Noosa Trail. Or better still, if a tower is necessary, even further west so it sits against the face of the Woondum range instead of poking up at the end of a ridge in the Falls Creek Valley. I object to the proposed tower on Tablelands Road and believe a revised location must be considered.
