                                           • Restrict or minimize vehicle and plant movement through Site while clearing
vegetation to reduce the chance of fauna-vehicle collision.
                                           • Minimize vehicle movement through the Site pre-dawn and after dusk, which
are peak times of fauna movement.
                                           • Ensure vegetation clearing is conducted in a manner that allows fauna to
relocate at their own volition, into areas that are not isolated islands of
vegetation (see Figure 7 and Table 5).
                                           • Maintain and rehabilitate wildlife corridors to be retained through measures
                                               including, but not limited to:
o Maintenance, rehabilitation, and protection of the waterbody at the eastern
boundary to facilitate movement of aquatic fauna.
o Nest box installation, as per Table 6.

Performance 1. Mortality and unnecessary disturbance of fauna should be prevented.
indicators 2. Fauna are not isolated on islands.

Personnel Base Architecture is required to:
            responsible
                                           • Inform all contractors, through means of a Site induction or pre-start meeting,
of their responsibility to abide by speed limits.
                                           • Undertake rehabilitation measures as outlined above unless otherwise dictated
                                               by Noosa Shire Council.

Reporting and Details of all fauna interactions, including injuries and/or deaths, are to be provided to
            auditing the FSC/Ecologist for inclusion.

Corrective In the event that practices are inconsistent with the strategies outlined in the SMP and
action VDMP, the Contractor should take the corrective steps and report non-compliance to
                                       the relevant personnel.

4.6. Control of Feral, Domestic and Companion Animals
Terrestrial vertebrate pest species that may be present within the Site include Cane toad (Rhinella
marina), Common myna (Acridotheres tristis), Red fox (Vulpes vulpes), House mouse (Mus
musculus), Black rat (Rattus rattus) and House gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus). Invasive fauna can
prey on and displace native fauna, degrade natural bushland and waterways, and spread invasive
plants, parasites, or diseases. Pest management is considered:

                • During preparation for operational works.
                • In on-going monitoring and management of retained and rehabilitated habitat.

The Biosecurity Act 2014 states that every person has a General Biosecurity Obligation to take all
reasonable and practical steps to minimise the risks associated with invasive animals under their
           control.
