2. REPORTS
1 APPROVAL OF MAYORS ATTENDANCE AND REPRESENTATION OF COUNCIL –
COUNCIL OF MAYORS SEQ, DELEGATION TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
AND CANADA
In accordance with Chapter 5B of the Local Government Act 2009, Cr Stewart provided the following
declaration to the meeting of a prescribed conflict of interest in this matter:
I, Cr Stewart, inform the meeting that I have a prescribed conflict of interest in this matter as this report
is recommending the approval of my attendance at an overseas delegation that incorporates associated
sponsored travel and accommodation benefits that are greater than $2000. I believe a reasonable
person could have a perception of bias, even though I am the Council-appointed representative for the
Council of Mayors SEQ. Whilst there is no financial requirement required by Council in this decision and
my appointment on the Council of Mayors is part of Ordinary Council business, as a result of my conflict
of interest, I will now leave the meeting room while the matter is considered and voted on.
Cr Stewart left the meeting.
Council Resolution
Moved: Cr Finzel
Seconded: Cr Wegener
That Cr Jurisevic be appointed Chair due to the conflict of interest declaration by Cr Stewart.
Carried unanimously.
