Appendix D - Non-standard Crossover Letter
Non-compliance with the 7m min distance between crossings for a duplex identified in STD DWG
RS-049. 1m is specified between the crossover wings to accommodate the roof water outlet into
the kerb.
Non-standard wings (not the maximum transition length of 500mm) are detailed to accommodate
the vehicle swept paths contained in the attached drawings.
Note that the clearance of 1m from local area traffic management devices has been achieved from the
W2 point of the crossover as per STD DWG RS-049.
FIGURE 2 EXTRACT OF THE PROPOSED CROSSOVER LAYOUT
It is proposed to implement these non-standard deviations for the crossover for the Proposed Lot 2 on the
basis that:
Due to the existing dwelling and pool layouts, the location of the crossover results in less than
7m separation between the two accesses.
This has previously been approved in the adjacent Oak Street with battle axe subdivisions
having access handles with less than 7m separation.
The length of the wing transition has been modelled to accommodate the vehicle swept paths for
vehicles leaving and heading north on Overlander Avenue whilst avoiding the existing traffic
island and electrical infrastructure.
