                                                                                             Native Foresters

    10. Ground-truthed vegetation on Site A is high value regrowth eucalypt and
Melaleuca woodland (40 years old) in moderate condition with patches of younger
regrowth near the road and in the eastern parcel.
    11. No Threatened Ecological Communities were present.
    12. No threatened flora species were identified within the proposed clearing area.
    13. Two Special least concern species occur in Site A – Giant boat-lipped orchid
(Cymbidium madidum) and Shepherd’s crook orchid (Geodorum densiflorum).
    14. There are six large habitat trees present (dbh > 500mm).
    15. Broad-leaved paperbark and eucalypt species within the site are considered Koala
Habitat Trees (KHT). There are approximately 240 non-juvenile KHTs in Site A.

Native Fauna

    16. Site A is not mapped as Core Koala habitat, but evidence of Endangered Koala
was found in the form of a fresh scat in the north-eastern corner of Site A.
    17. Koalas are known to cross the Eumundi Noosa Road and the surrounding eucalypt
and Melaleuca habitats constitute a known dispersal route for individuals moving in
        and out of Noosa Shire.
    18. Habitat suitable for breeding by Vulnerable Wallum froglet can be found around
Site A in the 100m buffer, so it is considered likely that individuals may disperse
throughout Site A on occasion following rainfall events.
    19. Despite the limited extent of Site A, there is a moderate range of microhabitats and
potential breeding places present. There are two hollow bearing trees, two
termitaria, one area of coarse woody debris, and a semi-closed understorey.

Biosecurity

    20. Restricted invasive plants listed under the Biosecurity Act recorded within the site
include Ground asparagus fern, Camphor laurel, Lantana, Groundsel and Singapore
        daisy.
