PROPOSED UNIT DEVELOPMENT
PRECINCTS E2 & F, NOOSA SPRINGS
7.5 Drainage
Adequate site drainage must be installed to ensure that surface water runoff is directed away from building
footings and walls. This could be achieved by constructing swales around structures, together with grated
channel drains along pathways and along/across access corridors. Surface diversion drainage should be
constructed up slope of building areas and along the crest of any new cut embankment (e.g. grassed or
landscaped swales or diversion mounds).
Subsurface drainage must be installed behind any retaining walls in order to prevent the development of
hydrostatic pressure (e.g. slotted ‘aggi’ pipe wrapped in filter ‘sock’ placed in gravel backfill).
All collected waters (including overflow from any rainwater tanks) must be directed by pipes or lined channels
to the legal point of downstream discharge.
Subsurface disposal of stormwater must not be undertaken (including infiltration pits).
