Regular progress meetings
There is a perceived conflict of interest as Carolyn Bullen, a team member of the economic
development team, was the contact person for the Noosa Chamber throughout the application
process. Carolyn regularly meets with Chamber representatives as part of her role. She was not
however part of the assessment panel.
The application will be reported consistent with the relevant Noosa Council grants policies to
reduce the risk of misuse of funds.
Review
The Economic Development Grants Program has been operating for 4 years. The Economic
Development team is commencing a review of the program which will include an appraisal of the
guidelines, grants process and the funding model for external organisations. Internal and external
feedback will be considered as part of the review process.
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
The applicant was required to make contact with a Council Officer prior to and during the
application process and seek the support of precinct base business representative groups.
