It is considered timely to conduct a review of the service in consultation with the existing users to:
• ensure the service is fit for purpose and provides value for money,
• identify any overlap in services
• consider opportunities or improvements to the service
• benchmark fees with other similar on-demand public transport services available in
Queensland
• explore improved funding arrangements with Translink.
There is also opportunity to consider better integration of services with Noosa Seniors, who also
operate a volunteer-based transport service. This review would be undertaken jointly with Boreen
Point Flexilink (as outlined below) and would involve engagement with existing patrons. The
outcomes of the review will be further reported to Council.
1.2 Boreen Point Flexilink
This service is designed to provide transport to people with limited transport options between Boreen
Point and Noosa Banks. The service is scheduled to connect with existing public transport services
for onward journeys. It operates on a designated route on a pre-booked basis. A vehicle will not be
sent if there are no bookings.
Provided a booking is made, the service runs three return trips per day, Monday to Saturday.
