To whom it may concern, Whilst we fully understand and appreciate the need for more “ hotel and resort” style accommodation in the Noosa area as residents of Serenity Close we have some functional/practicality concerns that we hope the council fully considers when assessing this application. 1. TRAFFIC. The streets in this area are at best made to service the local volume of traffic with minimal commercial vehicles. The increased volume of both hotel traffic and commercial traffic will undoubtedly cause problems in this area and need to be very seriously considered. For example, at the busiest times it is currently challenging and borderline dangerous to exit Grant Street at the roundabout at Noosa Junction. This proposed hotel will increase traffic exponentially and we fear for the problems this will create at this intersection. Foot traffic must also be considered. It is currently challenging to walk along Grant Street ( and other side streets in the area) because of inadequate footpaths. Hopefully this will be addressed. 2. PARKING The northern side of Serenity Close is almost always full with street parking. The southern side tends to be used for rubbish bin collections etc. With the increased volume of cars this will no doubt cause issues and frustration for all concerned. Staff and service vehicles/ tradesmen vehicles parking in Serenity Close has the potential to become a significant problem if adequate off street parking has not been incorporated in the planning. 3. ENTRANCE TO ELANDRA number 6 Serenity Close As residents of Elandra we experience the daily dangers and complexities associated with having to do a U Turn to access our property off Serenity Close. This was obviously an oversight when the original Elandra complex was approved? Given there appears to be a public pedestrian access to the hotel opposite the Elandra driveway this concentrated area of activity will become quite dangerous for all concerned. Can council investigate ways to overcome this odd scenario? Simplistically it appears direct entrance in and out of the Elandra driveway would help resolve this issue? Hopefully a solution can be incorporated into the overall proposed development. In closing, thank you for the opportunity for us to be able to table our thoughts and any concerns/ suggestions. It is much appreciated. Sincerely Lynne and David Murphy Elandra apt 7 6 Serenity Close Phone:0418847521 Sent from my iPad
