Good morning

We have no issues with the resort itself, finding the developers to be co-operative with the Serenity Close community. However, we have some concerns over the following which are most likely under Council jurisdiction.

  * Without doubt, with a resort this size, there will be more vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Being regular walkers along Grant Street and Katerina Street (where cars are parked both sides of the street), we note the dangers of there being no continuous footpath. We believe it is an accident waiting to happen.

  * Access onto the Noosa Junction roundabout from Grant Street has to be impacted by a resort of this size, especially during holiday times, though the traffic management plan indicates it will not be. Perhaps Banksia Avenue could be reopened for local residents only, to share the load. Consideration should also be given to the recent Queensland Government initiative of increasing population in Noosa by 10,000 over the next two years. This too will impact the Noosa Junction roundabout.

  * From our point of view, we are the caretakers of 7 buildings in Serenity Close (with a further building to come on line in a couple of years). There inevitably will be additional cars in the street that are visiting the Calile shops, restaurants, cafe where the pedestrian entry is from Serenity Close. People may not choose to use the carpark in the Calile, especially if there is a charge for non-residents. We will have approximately 32 x 1100L and 40 x 240L bins to put out on the street for collection on Wednesday for collection on Thursday. We would like further information on how bin collection would work if there is nowhere on the street to put them.

We would appreciate your consideration of the above points.

Kind Regards

Jeff and Lin Edwards
