Commercial Building Design Guidelines
for Pomona Town Centre
Intent
Pomona Town Centre has a concentration of the shire’s remaining built cultural heritage.
Other locations in Noosa have lost their built cultural heritage due to development. Pomona’s
older buildings are a major contributor to what makes the place special. At the same time
Pomona is a place for people to live in a contemporary way — there is no need for new
buildings to mimic older buildings, but rather respect and re-inforce the built cultural heritage
through good site responsive architecture.
