6.5           Action plans
Action plans are the primary tool used by subgroups to manage the recovery effort. They too are
a mechanism to operationalise the recovery effort. Action plans are the detailed plans developed,
maintained and implemented by individual recovery subgroups. Each subgroup’s action plan will
specify the programs, activities, agencies, resources and timeframes required in order to achieve
the objectives and strategies specified in the Recovery Operational Plan. Routine reporting by
the subgroup to the LRG on the progress of their action plans is required to ensure the overall
recovery effort is proceeding as planned.
