PLANNING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA                                      6 DECEMBER 2016


The work being done by the community partnership complements Council’s recently adopted
Zero Emissions Noosa Organisational Strategy to reduce CO2 and other greenhouse emissions
generated by Council’s operations. The Strategy indicates that Council may provide advice and
will endeavour to work closely with community organisations that are working with the community
to a zero net emissions future.

While the MOU places no obligations on Council, the community alliance has some expectations
of Council providing hands on support to its various working groups. The scope and nature of
this involvement is yet to be determined by the Chief Executive Officer. Work has commenced
on development of the organisational Action Plan and part of the brief is to identify resources
required to deliver the organisational Zero Net Emissions Strategy and Action Plan.

Nil.

Finance & Risk

The Memorandum of Understanding is not a formal undertaking and does not commit Council to
any obligations other than to strive to reach the objectives stated in the MOU to the best of its
ability.
