Council Standing Committees

Councillors have considered that it may be appropriate to rotate membership of its Standing
Committees after two years of operation. This enables some Councillors to experience new
Committees and also presents an opportunity to rotate the Chairs of relevant Committees. No
changes are proposed to the membership or Chairperson of the General Committee which
consists of the Mayor and all Councillors.

In relation to the Planning and Environment Committee, it is proposed that Cr Jurisevic step
down as Chairperson and move to the Services and Organisation Committee. Cr Stockwell would
become Chairperson of the Planning and Environment Committee. Cr Glasgow would move from
the Services and Organisation Committee to the Planning and Environment Committee. Cr
Pardon would step down as Chairperson of the Services and Organisation Committee and Cr
Jurisevic would become Chairperson of that Committee. Other memberships of the Committees
would remain unchanged.

Case Management Working Group

Council has a Case Management Working Group which has oversight of the carriage of Council’s
Planning and Environment Court cases. Several senior staff also sit on this Working Group
including the CEO, Director of Environment and Sustainable Development, Director Corporate
Services and the Planning Manager. This Working Group does not have authority to settle cases
(which is the role of Council) but it does review progress and ensures that a consistent approach
is taken to litigation. It is proposed that the Mayor continue as a member and Cr Stockwell would
replace Cr Jurisevic as he is the new Chairperson of the Planning and Environment Committee.

Northern SEQ Regional Roads and Transport Group

Cr Pardon has previously been Council’s representative on the Northern SEQ Regional Roads
and Transport Group and it is proposed that Cr Jurisevic be appointed as Council’s
representative to that group as he will be the new Chairperson of the Services and Organisation
Committee. The Northern SEQ Regional Roads and Transport Group consists of the Transport
and Main Roads Department, Noosa Council, Sunshine Coast Council, Moreton Bay Council and
Somerset Council. The Councils and DTMR work together to manage Local Roads of Regional
Significance and Regional Roads of Local Significance.

Park Road Boardwalk Reference Group

This Reference Group was established to assist Council with the development of the designs for
the Park Road Boardwalk. While the design element of the work has been finalised and tenders
let, there may be an ongoing role for the group in terms of communication about the construction
phase and actions to mitigate any impacts on our community. Cr Stockwell was previously
Council’s representative on this Reference Group and it is proposed to replace Cr Stockwell with
Cr Glasgow.

Noosa Integrated Catchment Association Inc. (NICA)

Under the NICA Constitution, various sectors and organisations can nominate a representative to
be a member of NICA (under section 10 of the NICA Constitution). Local government is one
such sector and Council has not previously nominated a representative. It is proposed that Cr
Stockwell would be Council’s representative to NICA.
