Figure 4: Base of the Bribie Island Pine approximately 1m from the edge of the road
A review of the site plans has been undertaken, and the Lower Ground Floor design for the
car parking is facilitated by the driveway exit onto Bottlebrush Avenue. As part of this frontage
redesign, the boundary wall and existing timber retaining wall located on the council verge
require removal. In the reconfiguration of the Lot level, the road reserve will be a slope that
can be relandscaped. This design will directly conflict with the existing trees thereby requiring
their removal.
Figure 5: Existing timber retaining wall is proposed to be removed.
The existing trees on the Bottlebrush Ave frontage between the retaining wall and the
boundary wall have had their root systems restricted, reducing their ultimate growth size.
Having reached their potential in this location and circumstances, and with the trees displaying
slowed growth rates, their retention value does not warrant a major redesign.
