Not properly made submission (late) Liz Datson MCU12/0184
Subject: nzw BCS 1192 MCU12/0184 Notice of Submission Liz Datson From: liz datson Date: 2013-08-17T21:39:56+00:00 To: Internet Mailbox Sunshine Coast Regional Council I am writing to make a submission on the above application. I object to this proposal on the grounds of the increased traffic that approval of this application will generate, on roads that are already inadequate. To allow for large vehicular access to/from this proposed poultry farm for delivery and export, what will be the prescribed route through Cooroy to the highway? It must pass the Cooroy Christian College on Cooroy Belli Creek Rd.The choice of Overlander Ave is presumably not being contemplated, due to existing "traffic calming" speed bumps and traffic islands, for access to/from Highway, which leaves three alternatives. Tulip St, residential and Noosa High School, exiting on to Myall St at the bottom of a dip. Crystal St residential, exiting opposite Golf Course on crest of hill to Myall St, or, thirdly via two roundabouts and a major right hand turn on a giveway sign on to Myall St , which should have the traffic gridlocked for hours a day I imagine. Not to mention passing the Eden rehabilitation facility and more residential addresses if using this third alternative. West Cooroy, Belli Ck Road is used for daily access of residents to and from Cooroy. It is also used for cyclists, with a sign indicating that it is used for cyclist training for 11km, being recently erected near Roberts Drive. It is also well used by motorcyclists and tourists circuiting the hinterland. Old Ceylon Road, sealed at least, is a narrowing winding section of road and is part of the school bus route. Top Forestry Road is unsealed. The increased large truck movements required to service the poultry farm will generate constant dust issues for residents, who depend on tank water. Removing dust from gutters, rooves and water tanks will be an impossible task. A requirement for the approval is that the property is to have all weather access. Will top Forestry road stand up to this requirement with increased heavy vehicle traffic in the wet season? The rainfall that the hinterland experiences at times will cause the dirt road to deterorate even faster than it currently does. Will it be a caveat on the poultry farm to seal this section of road, should this application be approved? Or will the rate payers continue to pay for the constant road repairs which will be required. Other grounds , such as visual pollution, oudour, and possible run off from the avocado orchard manure, into Blackfella Creek, obviously need to be considered as well, but my main objection is due to the increased traffic. Thank you for your consideration of this submission. Liz Datson 275 Ferrells Rd Cooroy 18.08.13
