As a long time member of the Cooroy –Noosa Genealogical & Historical Research Group Inc. I ask you to seriously consider the application lodged by the group regarding vacant land at 17 Emerald Street, Cooroy.
This group has a core of hard working, dedicated members who have built the group into something that the community should be proud of. Attracting International guests & visitors is proof of their success.
Whilst the existing rooms have been useful in the past they are now very inadequate and it is vital we secure appropriate premises in the near future.
The new position would attract visitors and new members due to its’ central location, parking facilities etc.
It would also benefit local businesses as members & visitors would almost certainly support these businesses whilst in town. The present location is not even insight of the town.
As the group has a wealth of research material and members with years of experience in different fields it can only be considered as an asset to the community.
Activities carried out are of the research kind and thus there is very little noise or disturbance to neighbours.
A large number of members are keen gardeners and the intended building and landscaping would be an improvement to the area.
So, in closing, I ask again that you consider this application very carefully and when you approve it I know you will not regret the decision.
