RACV NOOSA RESORT ECO PRECINCT – LETTER OF SUPPORT

I refer to the construction of 16 two bedroom eco-cabins, boardwalk and carpark that will extend the existing
RACV Noosa Resort.
The Department of Tourism Innovation and Sport is pleased to support this development through the
Tourism Experience Development Fund that was established to rebuild visitor confidence in Queensland’s
Tourism Industry, drive demand for Queensland destinations and meet the changing preferences of
consumers through enhanced tourism products.
The proposed development was considered to align with local trends for sensitive, sustainable
accommodation and is projected to support 110 jobs through construction, 10 jobs once operational and
attract an additional 5,000 annual visitors expected to contribute $3 million to the local economy.
The proposal notes it expects to deliver an integrated development that minimises impacts while improving
the existing vegetation and koala habitat onsite and that cabin designs satisfy universal and local
sustainability standards and have been developed with feedback from key consultants including ecological,
arborist, bushfire and koala experts.
We enthusiastically support this project and will partner with RACV to ensure the delivery of all grant
requirements.
