To Noosa Council,

I am writing with my concerns regarding the plans to build a"Resort complex"  117 room "boutique hotel “ at Noosa Springs.


Main objections are:

-At 12m high it will visually overpower existing buildings

-Two thirds of the development is to be built on land zoned "recreational and open space"

-Zoning maps indicate it is a "Core Koala Habitat", "a Koala Priority Habitat" and this will be lost together with other fauna and flora (there have been recent sightings of Koalas in this area)

-With potentially 224 occupants, plus children and additional staff, the already existing fire evacuation risk will be significantly increased with potentially disastrous ramifications.

-The DA suggests that the guests and staff will be arriving and leaving on 2 wheels or public transport. This is just not realistic

-An already busy carpark will be inadequate for guests, staff, golfers and those who use the spa, gym, medical facilities, restaurant etc. It is already over capacity at peak times and the Parking Studies lack meaningful analysis

-The developers are potentially "double-dipping" as the land originally earmarked for a hotel was used to build Parkridge.

Many of the above serve to undermine the integrity of the Noosa Plan 2020.

Why turn Noosa into another Gold Coast . Your ruining the very reason why people visit !
