Subject: Application # MCU 18/0166 - Submission Material Change of Use - Service and Utility Type 3 tower From: Maurizio Floris Date: 2019-06-17T10:41:23+00:00 To: Mailbox Council Mail To Assessment Manager Noosa Council Planning [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Application # MCU 18/0166 Submission Material Change of Use - Service and Utility Type 3 tower 244 Tablelands Rd Cooran Property ID 154492 Lot 22 SP 148684 Objection to Application for Material Change of Use - Service and Utility Type 3 tower My brother-in-law and his wife have purchased property at 226 Tablelands Road, Cooran. The application to site a telecommunications tower at 224 Tablelands Road, Cooran concerns me greatly. The proposed tower so obviously fails to meet the objectives and desired outcomes of the Noosa Plan 2018 and in particular the Mary River Catchment Locality Plan. Noosa Planning Scheme Policy 23 – Telecommunications Towers, Section 2.2 states - Applications on sites containing environmentally sensitive areas, such as native habitat, steep slopes or ridgelines are unlikely to be supported, if those areas are likely to be adversely impacted upon by the proposed development. A 35 metre high telecommunications tower at 224 Tablelands Road will dominate the significant ridgeline that runs up to James Mckane Lookout Park and will negatively impact the scenic amenity, not only for nearby residents but also everyone visiting the area who will be able to see the tower from major roadways. I ask you to uphold the Noosa Plan and protect the ridgeline by rejecting this application. Maurizio Floris [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>
