Risks & Opportunities
Under Section 236 (1) (c) (iii) of the Local Government Regulation 2012, Council is not required to
tender for the leasing of the property as the purpose of the lease renewal is to the existing tenant.
In accordance with the Regulation, an independent market valuation must also have been
undertaken for the property.
Renewal of lease aligns with Theme 5 of Council’s Corporate Plan- Excellence as a Council –
Maximise financial opportunities for Council land holding for the purpose of maximising non-rate
revenue.
