PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 25 MARCH 2014
State Planning Regulatory Provisions
The following State Planning Regulatory Provisions (SPRP) apply to the application:
SEQ Koala Conservation State Planning Regulatory Provisions
Draft Coastal Protection State Planning Regulatory Provisions
Assessment against each is provided below.
SEQ Koala Conservation State Planning Regulatory Provisions
The site is within a Koala Assessable Development Area mapped under the SEQ Koala
Conservation SPRP and is subject to the assessment provisions of Table 7.
The application material seeks to assess part of the development (being the collector road linking
precincts 2 and 3 through bushland habitat areas) against the less stringent provisions of Table 4
for community or linear infrastructure development. However, Council officers understand those
provisions apply to works such as rail lines, gas pipelines, and similar major infrastructure
projects and the SPRP does not provide the opportunity to separately assess an urban road
within an urban development application. The Department of Environment and Heritage
Protection provided advice confirming this interpretation in its concurrence response.
An assessment against the SPRP Table 7 is provided below.
