e) Waste Minimization Strategies

   • Staff Training and Monitoring:

o All staff, particularly those in food preparation, service, and cleaning roles, will
receive training on waste minimization techniques. This includes portion control,
proper storage to extend shelf life, and encouraging the use of reusable items.

o Monthly audits will be conducted to monitor the effectiveness of waste
management practices. This will include tracking the volume of general,
recyclable, and organic waste, as well as identifying areas for improvement.

   • Monitoring and Feedback Mechanisms:

o The hotel will establish a feedback mechanism for staff to report challenges or
suggest improvements in waste management practices. This encourages
continuous improvement and active participation in the waste minimization
              strategy.

o Waste audits will be reviewed quarterly to track progress in reducing waste and
increasing recycling rates, with results shared during staff meetings to highlight
successes and areas for further action.

f) Community Engagement and Environmental Impact Reduction

   • Engagement with Local Waste Programs:

o The hotel will engage with local environmental groups and council programs to
align its waste management practices with community initiatives aimed at
reducing landfill impact and promoting sustainability.

o The hotel will participate in or sponsor local clean-up events and recycling
campaigns, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship and
fostering a sense of community involvement.

   • Communication of Waste Reduction Goals:

o Information on the hotel’s recycling and waste reduction initiatives will be
communicated to patrons through signage and digital platforms. This will
encourage guests to participate in recycling efforts and reduce their use of
              single-use items.

o The hotel will establish and publicly share its waste reduction targets, with
regular updates provided on progress. This transparency reinforces the hotel’s
commitment to minimizing its environmental footprint and engaging with the
              broader community.

This comprehensive waste management plan ensures the effective segregation, recycling, and
disposal of waste materials while emphasizing waste minimization strategies. The hotel’s
commitment to reducing single-use plastics and increasing recycling rates aligns with best
practices and regulatory requirements, fostering a sustainable and community-focused
operation.
