6.0 Planning assessment
The existing approval is for an ‘Integrated Permaculture Designed Organic Orchard and Golf Course
Complex’. The use has not ceased - with the permaculture designed orchard and golf course to
remain as part of the owners plans to allow for Short Term Accommodation on the site.
The definition of Short Term Accommodation is considered to be the most appropriate fit for the
proposal as it allows for short term accommodation for visitors and ancillary manager’s residence,
office and recreation facilities for the exclusive use of guests. The accommodation is to only be used
by groups, does not include function facilities and is not considered to fit within the definitions of
nature based tourism, resort complex, tourist park or educational establishment as separately
defined.
