Communications Plan
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to briefly set out the communications and consultation approach
supporting the rollout of the NBN Fixed Wireless network in the Sunshine Coast local government area.
. NBN Co recognises that on the Sunshine Coast, the natural topography, aesthetics and lifestyles of local
communities is of paramount importance, and NBN Co is seeking to both design and deploy the network
in a sensitive way, balancing these values with our efforts to provide rural residential communities and
small townships with high-speed broadband services.
. NBN Co is adopting a proactive, whole-of LGA approach to consultation for the Fixed Wireless Network
in the Sunshine Coast. The NBN Fixed Wireless network comprises radio facilities that do not operate in
isolation of each other, but rather are highly interdependent. NBN Co’s consultation approach reflects
this fact -
NBN Co is not just proposing a series of towers, but a finely tuned network for the Sunshine
Coast.
. The consultation program includes pre-lodgement Information Sessions with the community covering all
proposed network facilities on the Sunshine Coast.
