RECOMMENDATION
That Council note the report by the Community Development Manager to the Services &
Organisation Committee Meeting dated 12 June 2018 and approve three year Alliance funding to
Noosa Community Training Centre Inc as provided in Attachment 1 to the report.
REPORT
Purpose
The purpose of this report is for Council to consider and endorse three year Alliance funding to
Noosa Community Training Centre Inc (NCTC) as provided at Attachment 1 of this report.
Background
As part of this round of Community Grants funding Noosa Community Training Centre
Incorporated was invited to apply for a three Year Community Alliance Agreement.
The invitation resulted from the Council decision of 15 February 2018 that requested the CEO to
explore ways in which Council can support NCTC to deliver their local training programs in the
absence of revenue from the Briteside Tip Shop and report back to Council.
Provision of this 3-year Alliance funding will help ensure the long term sustainability of the
organisation and allow it to continue to provide training programs for long term unemployed
people within the Noosa Community.
For further background on Community Alliance Grants refer to the Report titled “2018-2019
Community Grants Program Funding – Community Projects Grants (Round One) and Three Year
agreements – Overview” presented to the Services and Organisational Committee Meeting dated
12 June 2018.
