The information on Council’s website related to trees, including details regarding the Policy will
be improved so that residents are better informed about tree management on public land.
Previous Council Consideration
Ordinary Meeting, 9 April 2015, Item 2, Page 3
That Council note the report by the Civil Operations Manager to the Infrastructure & Services
Committee Meeting dated 31 March 2015 and adopt the Council Policy – Tree Management on
Public Land as set out in Attachment 1 to the report.
Finance
There are no additional costs associated with the implementation of the updated Policy.
Risks & Opportunities
The intent of the revision to the Policy is to provide additional clarification on Council’s position
relating to tree related issues. This will assist the tree management staff when responding to
customer requests.

Nil.
Internal Consultation
The Draft Tree Management on Public Land Policy was circulated to staff within Environmental
Services (Natural Areas), Local Laws and Governance, to the Director Infrastructure Services,
the Chief Executive Officer, and presented at a Councillor workshop on 18 April 2018. Comments
received have been incorporated in the revised Policy.
