3 SUMMARY
3.1 Key Recommendations
* Council should develop an operational system to regularly assess and report
on its legislative compliance with respect to waste management practices.
= The SCC experience suggests that community and political buy-in is critical to
achieving strategy goals and NC should ensure this occurs in the development
of options for the future Strategy.
= Council has existing concrete recycling and mulching operations at Eumundi
Road Landfill and should examine opportunities for possible cooperation at
Ringtail Creek under existing and proposed mulching and concrete recycling
\ contracts.
* Council should determine the present cost to ratepayers of operation of each
of the two Transfer stations.
