1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a geotechnical investigation carried out by Core Consultants Pty Ltd
(Core) for a proposed development (cabins) at 224 Moran Group Road, Kin Kin.
Our report includes a slope stability risk assessment, along with geotechnical recommendations on footing
design, earthworks, pavements, drainage and effluent disposal.
This report format generally follows the recommended Noosa Council (NC) format for geotechnical and slope
stability assessments.
2.0 PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT
We understand the client proposes to construct two single story cabins close to or at a knoll located at the
southern end of the lot (refer Image 1 below). No details of the cabins have been provided; however, we
anticipate that the cabins are to be constructed of lightweight materials. It is also anticipated that the
proposed development will require some minor earthworks including excavation for infrastructure and
services.
The cabins will be connected to an on-site treatment plant(s) with treated wastewater to be disposed of on-
site (refer Image 1 below).

approximately 101.5 ha. The site of the proposed cabins comprises a well grassed knoll bound by dense
vegetation (trees) to the north and Moran Group Road to the south. An existing residence and outbuildings,
and a dam, are located to the west (refer Image 2 below).
